The basics
Prodigy currently provides septic inspection, septic repair, leach-field testing, line hydro jetting, and grinder/ejector pump service. We do not currently offer septic tank pumping or new septic system installation (a pump truck is on the horizon). On-site systems in Tennessee are regulated by TDEC, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.

Schedule a septic inspection for any pre-purchase due diligence, when selling, or for a TDEC compliance check. Call for repair when you notice a soggy area over the drainfield, sewage smell at the tank, slow drains throughout the home, a sewage backup, or a grinder pump that is not cycling. Because Prodigy does not currently offer pumping, plan routine pumping with a licensed pumping provider on the standard 3-5 year interval.

Neglected septic systems fail in costly ways. Drainfield saturation can push raw sewage to the surface — a TDEC-reportable violation with possible fines — or back the system up into the home. A drainfield near a private well risks well-water contamination, a real estate sale can be blocked until the system is repaired, and a full drainfield replacement costs far more than routine maintenance and inspection. Catching problems early with a documented inspection protects both your property and your insurance position.

Most residential tanks need pumping every 3-5 years, and heavy-use or undersized tanks more often. Prodigy does not currently offer pumping, so we recommend scheduling that with a licensed pumping provider; we handle inspection and repair.
